Rescue Championship Success

Recently a small but dedicated Newport group competed in the 2017 NSW Surf Life Saving Pool Rescue Champions at the Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre in Sydney. While the group contained strong swimmers expectations were modest as it was their first rescue event.

By the end of the weekend, goals were well and truly exceeded with 4 Gold, 3 Silver and 8 Bronze medals, delivering Newport 5th place in the Youth Division against teams that train specifically for these events all year.

Team members:
Jodie & Maddie Louw, Jake, Zach & Mitch Morris, Braden & Nikita Newling, Alex & Jordan Lefevre, Joel Piper and Brandon Bartlem
Also Jake, Mitch, Joel and Brandon are representing Newport at the Australian titles in Adelaide during the first weekend of August. Best of luck gentlemen, we know you will do Newport proud.
