Nipper Club Championship and Awards
In each age group (excluding U6, U7 and Dolphins), awards will be presented for the first three place getters (boys and girls) in individual events, based on accumulated pointscore. The boy and girl with the least number of points over the 2 mornings of Club Championships shall be the Age Champion.
End of Season Awards
Most Improved
Awarded to either a boy OR a girl from each age group (U7 to U14), that has exhibited personal significant skills improvement throughout the season.
Encouragement Award
This is awarded to a girl OR a boy that embodies the ideals of Surf Life Saving. It is based on attendance, attitude, behaviour, willingness and helpfulness throughout the season.
Award Eligibility
To be eligible for any Nipper awards, including Club Champs, the Nipper themselves must have attended 60% of all Nippers. If a Nipper is attending a carnival and representing Newport on a Sunday this is taken as attendance.
These attendance rules are to reward and encourage attendance at Newport Nippers as well as Northern Beaches Branch Carnivals. Awards are given out to those that reach 80% or more attendance, this is to congratulate the Nipper on their commitment to the club.
- U6, U7 and Dolphins – All receive a bronze participation medal and certificate.
- U8 – 80% attendance receive a gold medal and certificate. All other Nippers receive a bronze participation medal and certificate.
- U9 to U13 – 80% attendance receive a gold medal and certificate. All other nippers receive a certificate.
- U 14 – must have an 80% attendance to receive their SRC.
